Samantha j. Phillips

BIO

Was it spending countless hours in a Casino watching trapeze Artists and Liberace?

Was it her exposure to the bullfights, flamenco music and the Bawdy community theatre her parents started in Spain?

Or was it her overwhelming desire to get out of Social Studies by signing up for Orchestra that propelled her into the limelight?

In one form or another, Samantha Phillips has utilized it all in her career.

Born in Reno, NV, Samantha learned early on that the “fearless make their own breaks in life”.

When she joined the orchestra at school, she tenaciously fought for the coveted first chair viola position. She claimed it just once, but with timing that became her trademark, it coincided with the orchestra entering a major competition- leaving the judges with the assumption that she was always first chair viola…………

Guided by her irreverent approach to the world of entertainment, Samantha auditioned for the University of Washington’s opera program having no idea what an aria was. While the other candidates sang by the book, she audaciously broke out the old standby, "Old Cape Cod" and was accepted into the Opera Program.

With her Masters of Music Diploma hung securely on the wall, Samantha began the next chapter of her performance career: acting.

Her first professional acting job was with the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire where she was cast as the legendary Dutch Pirate, Astrid van Dyrk. Simultaneously introduced to the awesome world of Stage Combat, Samantha ultimately learned sword fighting well enough to garner recognition in the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD).

Today, She’s the President of FightTrix, a teaching and consulting business in Stage Combat.

Samantha’s life in the theater has introduced her to many mediums. As an on-camera TV correspondent, she’s interviewed celebrities like Francis Ford Coppola, John Turturro, Colin Farrell, and Jackie Chan and was the Anchor for INN, the International News Network at ground zero.

First and foremost Samantha is an actress. She is an Affiliate Artist with the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble and a series regular on Yuckfest Production’s sitcom “Cookie & Co”.

Samantha is fearlessly preparing for her co-starring roles opposite Bill Murray, and Mike Myers. In the meantime you can see her on “Sex and the City”,“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, and Two Weeks Notice.

Samantha lives in Brooklyn, NY. She has an alter ego with a lounge act, Trish SeaBreeze, that’s played in SOHO, a Radio Shack on the Upper West Side, and for Quaker Kids in Pennsylvania.
